All News

(Vienna, 04 August 2025) Johannes Gojo from the Medical University of Vienna has been awarded a prestigious research grant of US$200,000 as part of the CARE FOR RARE initiative. The grant will support the project "ARMOR – Advanced Resistance Mapping and Overcoming Relapse of ETMR", which aims to develop new strategies against relapses in particularly aggressive embryonic tumours with multilayered rosettes (ETMR).

The grant is awarded by several international foundations, including Solving Kids' Cancer, Bibi Fund, Ty Louis Campbell Foundation, Jonah Finn Foundation and Gold Ribbon Kids Cancer Foundation. The funding will run for two years and recognises the great potential of the project to significantly advance understanding of resistance mechanisms in ETMR and to create new therapeutic approaches for this rare but difficult-to-treat form of childhood cancer.
