An der Medizinischen Universität Wien ist an der Universitätsklinik für Innere Medizin III / Klinische Abteilung für Rheumatologie mit der Kennzahl: 2648/20, voraussichtlich ab 15. April 2020 eine Stelle mit einem Beschäftigungsausmaß von 40 Wochenstunden mit einer Assistentin / einem Assistenten (postdoc) zu besetzen.

Das monatliche Mindestentgelt für diese Verwendung beträgt derzeit Euro 3.889,-- brutto (14x jährlich) und kann sich eventuell auf Basis der kollektivvertraglichen Vorschriften durch die Anrechnung tätigkeitsspezifischer Vorerfahrungen sowie sonstige mit den Besonderheiten des Arbeitsplatzes verbundene Entgeltsbestandteile erhöhen.

Das Arbeitsverhältnis ist befristet auf die Dauer von 2 Jahren mit der Option auf Entfristung.

Anstellungserfordernisse: Abgeschlossenes Studium der Lebenswissenschaften oder Pharmazie mit facheinschlägigem Doktorat, Qualifikation in Forschung und Lehre. Die fremdenrechtlichen Anstellungserfordernisse bei Nicht-EU-BürgerInnen müssen gewährleistet sein.

Gewünschte Zusatzqualifikationen: Das Arbeitsgebiet umfasst die Aufklärung molekularer Mechanismen in der Pathogenese entzündlicher, rheumatischer Erkrankungen. Die Beherrschung molekular- und zellbiologischer Arbeitstechniken ist daher Grundvoraussetzung. Erfahrung mit tierexperimentellen Arbeitsweisen sowie Verständnis in System biology und Umgang/Interpretation von Omics-Daten ist von Vorteil. Erwartet wird auch Bereitschaft zur Mitarbeit bei den Labororganisationen und der Einwerbung von Drittmittel. Mindestens eine Publikation als ErstautorIn in einem anerkannten Fachjournal ist erforderlich, zusätzlich Koautorenschaften werden berücksichtigt.

About the Division of Rheumatology

The Division of Rheumatology at the Medical University of Vienna performs basic, clinical and translational research in the field of rheumatology. The basic and translational research focuses on the mechanisms that promote inflammation and autoimmunity. The laboratory is participating in several national and international research clusters, which allows an intensive collaboration with excellent research institutes.

Available Positions

We are currently advertising a principal investigator position at the Division of Rheumatology at the Medical University of Vienna. The candidate should have an interest in the rheumatology research field and is also expected to establish an innovative and well-funded research group that is open to interdisciplinary collaboration. Research should be at the forefront of biology and medicine, spanning basic molecular and cellular processes, developmental biology and bioinformatics. In the course of career development, the appointees are expected to make substantial contributions to the laboratory, academic and research collaborations locally, regionally and internationally. Where required, the appointee may also be required to supervise research assistants, other research staff or postgraduate students and conduct administrative functions connected within the research area.

The candidate

The ideal candidate should have a background in molecular biology, immunobiology or related discipline with a documented experience in molecular biology, mammalian cell culture methods and mouse models. Previous research experience in Systems Biology and experience in large scale datasets are advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a strong motivation to engage in the rheumatology research field and should have at least one publication as a first author and experience in grant writing.
