Research interests

During my Master studies at ETH Zurich I discovered the fascinating world of MR Spectroscopy to investigate metabolism. My first project at the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Zurich involved post-mortem single-voxel 1H-MRS to determine brain pH. During my Master project at Balgrist Campus in Zurich I dealt with quantitative MRI, more specifically IVIM, to quantify perfusion changes in chronic spinal cord injury patients. After this excursion to the imaging division, I returned to the spectroscopy division and joined Wolfgang Bogner's group at MedUni Vienna to pursue my PhD studies. Here, my research focuses on the investigation of brain metabolism using deuterium metabolic imaging (DMI). The main focus lies on the development of sequences and evaluation of fitting methods.

Techniques, methods & infrastructure

  • MRI, MRS and DMI at 3T and 7T
  • Sequence development
  • Data processing and evaluation of MRI/MRS/DMI data
  • Coding (Bash, MATLAB, Python, R)
  • Patient and Volunteer Studies
