Course objective & Qualification profile

Course Objective

In clinical research, it is of central importance to protect the safety and well-being of study participants. To guarantee this, internationally binding guidelines and laws have been created and work processes defined. However, compliance with these standards also requires considerable organizational and financial effort, appropriate infrastructure and the availability of specially qualified personnel for the development of new, innovative therapeutic approaches.

The aim of the university course “Clinical Research - Master of Science (Continuing Education)” is to train people working in clinical research to meet the increasing requirements and contribute to the professionalization of clinical research. In future, it will only be possible to conduct studies in accordance with the strictest quality criteria that enable and accelerate the translation of study results into patient care by appropriately trained experts who have mastered the scientific principles and rules of clinical research in addition to their specialist training.

The university course combines practical relevance with teaching content in accordance with internationally valid scientific standards. This is made possible by international lecturers as well as experts from the Medical University of Vienna, national authorities and the pharmaceutical industry.

Final Qualification

Students obtain the capability to initiate, execute, interpret and publish clinical research projects independently and in conformity with current scientific, legal and ethical standards.
