The mission of this CD laboratory is to develop and apply technological innovations to establish Triple S (soft, safe, and smart) breast imaging. The CD Laboratory addresses the unmet need for patient-centered breast imaging that will lead to improved patient acceptance and participation in breast imaging to improve health outcomes. The CD Laboratory pursues the following specific goals:

1. Mammography-based imaging

We will develop a painless, low to no compression mammography technique without compromising image quality or diagnostic effectiveness by employing novel imaging technologies. We will also develop optimal and standardized contrast in CEM without compromising image quality and diagnostic performance by applying an artificial intelligence-based model.

2. Breast Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

We will innovate the MRI experience by introducing a wearable breast coil that allows comfortable measurement in the supine position. We will establish low-contrast to contrast-free MRI through technological improvements, the introduction of a high-relaxivity contrast agent, and the application of artificial intelligence.

3. Value of Patient-centered BI

We will confirm that the patient-centered Triple S (Soft, Safe, and Smart) approach developed in the CD laboratory is of value in preventing patient harm and discomfort while ensuring the safety of breast imaging, thereby increasing patient participation in breast imaging.
