"Austria's Journalist": Honours for the company spokesperson of the year

(Vienna/Schwechat, 10 January 2025) The trade magazine ‘Österreichs Journalist:in’ honoured Austria's best corporate spokespeople at a gala event at the Airport Vienna Conference and Innovation Center.

In the run-up to the competition, 283 journalists and media professionals submitted their assessments.

Johannes Angerer and his team from the Department of Coporate Communications at MedUni Vienna took first place in the ‘Research/Science’ category for the third time after 2021 and 2022. This time ahead of Markus Kiesenhofer from the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (Wifo) and Cornelia Blum, Head of Communications at the University of Vienna.

In the overall ranking of all Austrian company spokespersons, Angerer and his team took 15th place out of a total of 200 listed spokespersons.  Peter Kleemann, spokesperson for Vienna Airport, leads the overall ranking. Lisa Penz, editor in the Department of Coporate Communications at MedUni Vienna, was also recognised as one of the TOP 30 PR employees in Austria under the age of 30.

About the person
Johannes Angerer has been Head of Coporate Communications at MedUni Vienna since 2011; the university's press spokesperson has also been Managing Director of the Alumni Club since 2016. The communications expert is also Vice President of the Public Relations Association Austria (PRVA) and a board member of UniPR, the official association of communications managers at Austrian universities and universities of applied sciences.
