Examination Center for Victims of Violence

The Examination Center for Victims of Violence at the Medical University of Vienna (Center for Forensic Medicine) provides documentation of injuries—including photographic documentation and evidence collection—following acts of violence.

It is mandatory to contact us by phone at the following number before any examination:

Affected persons can also contact us by email at ugb@meduniwien.ac.at however, in urgent cases, it is advisable to contact us by phone.

IMPORTANT: Physicians at the examination center do not treat injuries. However, affected individuals may contact us even if they have injuries requiring treatment; during a phone call, we will determine when and under what circumstances an examination can take place.

Note: We do not prepare expert reports or expert opinions. Our services include documenting injuries, securing evidence, and compiling injury documentation, including any necessary photographic documentation. We do not issue expert reports.

Physicians at the medical examination center do not treat injuries. However, those affected can contact us even if they have injuries requiring treatment, and we will clarify during a phone call when and under what circumstances an examination can take place.

Hours of Operation

Monday through Friday:
8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Additional support on weekends and holidays:
continuously from Friday at 4:00 p.m. through Monday at 8:00 a.m.
