MedUni Vienna’s Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy in Vienna General Hospital is split into two divisions: the Division of General Psychiatry and the Division of Social Psychiatry. As a discipline, social psychiatry is concerned with the importance of social, cultural and other situational factors for mental health or illness.
Both divisions diagnose and treat mental disorders in line with the latest research. All scientific projects conducted in the department follow the Medical University of Vienna's guidelines on "Good Scientific Practice".
