Medical Universitty of Vienna's Subsidiaries

Since it became autonomous in 2004, the Medical University of Vienna has formed a number of subsidiaries and associates, each of which bundle special expertise and operate autonomously.

The School of Dentistry, Medical University of Vienna International, Forensisches DNA-Zentrallabor GmbH Wien (Vienna’s central forensic DNA laboratory) and Forschungsservice- und -beteiligungs GmbH (MedUni Vienna Innovation) are all wholly-owned subsidiaries of the University. Max F. Perutz Laboratories is a 60:40 joint venture between the University of Vienna and the Medical University of Vienna.

To Max F. Perutz Laboratories research and apprenticeship at international level in the area of the molecular biology is pursued. About 500 employees from 40 nations act in independent research groups and contribute thus to a better understanding of molecular-biological and cell-biological processes.

By the Medical University of Vienna International GmbH (MUVI), is the MedUni Vienna the first Austrian medical university which is active in the international Healthcare market. MUVI is entitled to appear as a private-economically operating enterprise in the international health care market as an exporter of Medical Science and Healthcare management, and to strengthen the scientific Renommée of the MedUni Vienna internationally.
