NEW - Poster Slam

Promote your science and poster in an unique and creative way with our new format – the poster slam!

Each participant will get one minute and a single PowerPoint slide to captivate the audience and entice them to visit their poster. These lively sessions will take place in the lecture hall before each poster session, promising a fresh and engaging experience for all.

As a bonus, all participants will get the chance to win some of our popular YSA merch!

Abstract Guidelines

Please read the following guidelines below as they are compulsory:

  • Abstracts must be submitted and presented at the conference in English. Once the abstract is submitted, changes, corrections, or rewordings are not possible anymore. Cautious typing and proofreading are essential, as the abstract will be published the way it is submitted.
  • The presenting author is obliged to ascertain that all authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission to the YSA PhD Symposium.
  • All submitted abstracts will be reviewed.
  • Please choose the scientific topic that fits best to the submitted abstract.
  • Accepted abstracts will qualify for either oral presentation or poster presentation and will be published in the abstract database.
  • Please note that the final decision on the presentation format depends on available time slots and may be reviewed by a scientific committee if necessary.
  • Please note that active participation (oral or poster presentations) is mandatory at least once during your PhD if you started your doctoral programme on 1st October 2019 or later. Active presentation can be credited once with 6 ECTS and needs approval by the respective chair during the symposium. For accreditation of your annual progress report, please invite your thesis committee to attend your presentation (MedUni Vienna Students only).

Abstract Format

Abstract titles should be brief and reflect the content of the abstract.

Abstracts should include:

  • an introduction indicating the purpose of the study
  • a brief description of pertinent experimental procedures
  • a summary of the presented data
  • a conclusion

The use of standard abbreviations is desirable. Please do not use any paragraphs to separate the different parts of your abstract.

The abstract is limited to 2.000 characters (including spaces).

In case of technical problems, we would like to ask you to send us all required informations and your abstract via email to: ysa@meduniwien.ac.at.
