Participant information

Digitalisation in medicine is changing the requirements for all organisations and participants in the healthcare sector. If you want to actively drive digital transformation in your organization, advise customers on this topic, or build knowledge about the topic and future developments for yourself, then you’ve come to the right place!

Target group

  • students, doctors, nursing and administrative staff
  • medical-technical personnel
  • employees of the pharmaceutical and medical technology industry
  • employees of federal, state and local administrations
  • employees in social service organisations

Format

Compact distance learning format, 10 Webex modules (one module per week) consisting of 60 min lecture and 30 min open discussion.

Speakers

Renowned doctors and scientists from medical universities as well as guest speakers from industry present current applications and possibilities of digitalisation in medicine.

The lecture series starts each October. You will find the program (in German) with the current dates here as soon as it becomes available!

Registration

Registration for students of participating universities is done via the respective campus management system of their home university.

Students from non-participating universities and interested parties register via dhealth@meduniwien.ac.at.

The registration deadline is October 15th.

Certification/Certificate

To obtain a certificate, participation in at least 70% of the lectures and submission of an essay of at least 1,250 words is required. The essay should address the possibilities, opportunities and risks at the doctor, patient and research level with reference to the developments discussed in the modules. For the essay, one of the following topics must be selected: a) Medical databases and big data, b) Telemedicine, digital communication, telemonitoring and data security, c) Digital diagnostics and digital imaging, d) Robotics in medicine, e) Augmented and virtual reality in medicine, or f) Digital public health.

Students who have registered via the campus management system of their home university upload the essay via the respective campus management system.

All other participants send the essay to dhealth@meduniwien.ac.at and receive the certificate by e-mail after payment of the certificate fee.

Costs

Participation in the lecture series is free of charge. A certificate fee of € 320 will be charged for issuing a certificate after positive evaluation of the essay. A discount of 10% is granted for at least three participants from one organization and direct billing with your organisation.

Students from the participating universities receive a certificate from their home university confirming successful completion of the course; there are no costs involved.
