If you are organising a larger group and travelling by coach, please contact us at  krebsforschungslauf@meduniwien.ac.at.

You can register for the Cancer Research Run directly on our website at "registration runners" or "registration company teams".

Anyone who does not have a debit card with a credit function or a credit card and would like to donate by bank transfer should complete the (1.) online registration form ‘Runner Registration’, (2.) then close the window asking for credit card details, (3.) send an email to  krebsforschungslauf@meduniwien.ac.at stating your name, the donation amount and the keyword ‘bank transfer’, and (4.) transfer the donation to the donation account:
Medical University of Vienna, IBAN: AT362011140410070700, BIC: GIBAATWW, payment reference: UE 711 01 043 (must be included). The donation will then be linked to your registration and the race pack will be sent to the postal address provided in your registration.

For those who decide at the last minute, there will be an opportunity to register for the Cancer Research Run and start running straight away on 10 October between 9 am and 1 pm on site at Hof 2/Lecture Theatre Centre C on the Unicampus Altes AKH in Vienna.

The original circuit of the Cancer Research Run at the Unicampus Altes AKH is one mile (1609 metres) long.

Your donation is voluntary and does not depend on how many laps you run. When you register, we ask for a donation of at least 30 euros, and you can run as many laps as you can and wish to.

For any additional laps, many corporate partners contribute to a fund – so every lap you run provides valuable support for the fight against cancer.

Incidentally, your donation is tax-deductible – if you wish to claim this, please be sure to mention it when you register.

We’re delighted when children take part too! Please note:

  • Registration forms for minors must also be signed by a parent or guardian.
  • It is usually difficult for children – especially young ones – to keep track of things and find their way around in large crowds. It’s best to set off with the little ones from around 12:00, when the rush on the running route has eased off. It gets very busy, especially at the start!
  • The experience of the Cancer Research Run and the safety of all runners are equally important to us – so please do follow the guidelines on how to behave on the course.

We ask all participants who wish to take part in the Cancer Research Run to make a donation of at least 30 euros, regardless of how many laps they run or how old they are.

During the Cancer Research Run, toilets will be available in Lecture Theatre Centre C (start/finish area), as well as a lecture theatre for changing or leaving rucksacks (unattended) and a supervised cloakroom (for a donation). There are no showers.

We recommend arriving at the Cancer Research Run already dressed in sportswear and leaving any outer clothing or bags at the cloakroom.

Rain is no reason to cancel the Cancer Research Run. As long as there is no danger to our participants, the Cancer Research Run will take place.

Once you have completed your run, you can collect a personalised certificate showing the number of miles you have covered from the information tent in Hof 2 in exchange for your lap card.

If you are taking part as part of a company team, you will receive the certificate from your company’s team coordinator after the run.

The unisex functional T-shirt is available in various sizes and costs 25 euros. You can buy it now from the MedUni Shop at Vienna General Hospital (main entrance, on the right as you enter the lobby). At the Cancer Research Run, there are usually only a few remaining items left to buy.

The proceeds from the sale of the running T-shirts go towards cancer research projects at MedUni Vienna.

Various photographers will be present at the Cancer Research Run. The photographs and video footage may be published for the purposes of documenting and reporting on the event in print and online media, on various social media platforms and on the MedUni Vienna website.

After the event, you will find an album featuring highlights of the event on the MedUni Vienna Flickr page
