Research interests

My overall research goal is to progress MRI for neurosurgical applications, so that future treatment outcomes can be improved by offering better information to the surgeons.

    My current research topics:

    • Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopic Imaging (MRSI)
    • Intraoperative MRI
    • MR Sequence design and development
    • Ultra-high field MR
    • MRI and MRSI applications for neurosurgery (glioma, epilepsy)

Beyond these, I am also committed to science education and public dissemination. Please contact me if you want me to participate in an event, give tours or presentations, or have questions about MRI.

Techniques, methods & infrastructure

    • High-resolution and ultra-high-resolution MRSI of the brain at 7 T
    • Development of quantitative metabolic imaging
    • MRSI application to patient studies with a focus on neurosurgical applications
    • Intraoperative MRI (including applications of MRS and fMRI)
    • Advanced MRI protocols for brain tumours
    • MRI and MRSI of epilepsy
