Research Area: Pollination in Austria and Europe; Allergen avoidance; Symptom and pollen data and their relationship to air quality
My research interest lie on pollen information and the improvement of pollen forecasts for the public on a local and European scale. Moreover, the improvement of personalized pollen information is an essential goal in my work as a researcher. In addition I have a focus on grasses and how different species contribute to the grass pollen season.
Techniques, methods & infrastructure
We apply standard light microscopy to determine and count pollen and spores from aerobiological samples. I also have experience in the field of Palynology (recent and fossil), electrone microscopic techniques (SEM and TEM) as well as in phenological monitoring and as data base administrator (European Pollen database, EAN)
