BASIC SEMINAR
The Basic Seminar of the program Endocrinology and Metabolism is held in winter term, usually during two weeks in November. In the Basic Seminar, members of the program faculty contribute lectures of one hour, which are within their specific expertise and deal with most versatile topics. The aim is to provide students enrolled in the program with a broad insight into clinical and experimental topics encompassed by the fields of endocrinology and metabolism. At least half of the ECTS for Basic Seminars must be collected in the specific courses of the program.

JOURNAL CLUB, THESIS SEMINAR
Formally two different courses, Journal Club and Thesis Seminar of the program Endocrinology and Metabolism are held together on Thursday afternoons. Students present an interesting scientific paper or report about progress made in their projects. The aim is to bring together students and to provide them with training for scientific presentation and discussion, as well as with insight into the broad variety of studies and topics that arise within the fields of endocrinology and metabolism. To gain credits, it is obligatory to attend the courses and to deliver the scheduled presentations. At least two thirds of the ECTS for Journal Clubs and all ECTS for Thesis Seminars must be collected in the specific courses of the program.
