Johann Wojta will retire on 30th September 2022. For more than 30 years Hans has devoted himself to the field of fibrinolysis and proteolysis, shaping the field nationally and internationally and representing the Medical University of Vienna in a variety of expert panels and societies.
The field of fibrinolysis and especially the protein Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor 1 (PAI-1) have shaped Johann Wojta's professional career. He has supported the scientific environment through a new generation of monoclonal antibodies, which are still in use. His editorial activities for the journals “Thrombosis and Haemostasis” and “Cardiovascular Research” testify to great interest in his field.
Johann Wojta is not only a driving force in research. He has also influenced countless cohorts of medical and pharmaceutical students through his teaching of physiology.
This symposium will present Hans Wojta's scientific interests and passions and invite discussion. In keeping with Hans' style, the focus will be on scientific knowledge and new data.
