Co-Registration on the Medical University of Vienna

Procedure

Students who have been admitted and registered for a regular study at another Austrian university have the opportunity to take part in individual courses as co-registered students at the MedUni Vienna.

If it is not possible to take an exam at the university, where you are admitted to study as a full student (eg because the course is not offered), you can take the appropriate exam using the so called "co-registration" on another Austrian university without admission to ordinary studies.

Passing the examination have to be approved by the department responsible for study affairs, e.g. Dean of Studies, the University of your Admission ("Stammuniversität") in advance (see "application for co-registration" page 2 below, legal basis: § 63 (9) (2) Universitätsgesetz 2002 - UG).

You have to make the continuation of your studies at your home university (by paying the ÖH-fee and  possible tuition fee), only then is it possible to be co-register at other universities.

Please clarify in advance with your home university if and in which form the courses/examinations that you would like to complete as part of the co-registration at the MedUni Vienna are eligible for your regular studies at your home university.
