Formal Requirements

Certain requirements must be fulfilled for admission to the university entrance qualification exam for mature students (SBP). These are set out in § 64a of the Universities Act 2002 (BGBl. [Federal Law Gazette] I No. 120/2002, as amended) and in the Rectorate’s University Entrance Regulations, effective from Oct.1, 2010, of MedUni Vienna (newsletter for 2009/10 academic year, item 22, no. 34).


Which requirements apply to admission to the University entrance qualification examination for mature students (SBP)?

    • Age:
      One precondition is a minimum age of 20
    • Citizenship:
      Applicants must have Austrian citizenship, citizenship of an EEA Member State or equivalence to EU citizens.
    • Educational background:
      The professional and extra-professional educational background must go clearly beyond fulfilment of compulsory schooling. These must be verified by credentials and private reports on specialist knowledge, and presented in your CV.

        Verification

        How can you prove that you fulfil the requirement?

        Proof of age and citizenship is provided by showing a passport, the other requirements must be verified by relevant credentials. Equivalence with EU citizens must be shown for example by presenting a relevant residence permit.

        All documents must be presented in the original and copy (or certified copy). A German translation from a court certified translator, where necessary with apostille, must be enclosed with foreign-language documents.
