Research interests

My main research interest is in the clinical and translational aspects of venous thromboembolism (VTE, deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism). Currently, my work is focused on risk assessment of bleeding in VTE and on identifying novel markers recurrence in patients with VTE. Especially important are patients with so-called unprovoked VTE, a disease entity with a currently unclear background and pathogenesis.

Techniques, methods & infrastructure

Data collection and analysis, including a broad spectrum of epidemiological and statistical techniques. Currently, I manage an academic study that actively recruites patients with acute VTE (~ 500 participants).
