Geburtstag.  Meir Wilchek ist weltweit bekannt für die Entwicklung der Affinitätschromatographie und des Avidin-Biotin-Systems, das den Bereich der Grundlagenforschung, Labordiagnostik, Arzneimittelentwicklung und Patientenbehandlung revolutioniert und gefördert und damit zahlreiche Leben verbessert und gerettet hat. Meir Wilchek hat die Medizinische Universität Wien mehrfach besucht, wo er Vorträge hielt, Forschungsprogramme beriet und Wissenschaftler auf verschiedenen Karrierestufen betreute.
