Research interests
My research interest within cellular immunology and allergology is focused on T cells and their interaction with antigen-presenting cells, esp. MHC/peptide-TCR- interactions, characterization of antigen-specific CD4 and CD8 positive T cells. Of special interest for me is the role of T cells in natural tolerance induction or by vaccination in allergen-specific immunotherapy. Moreover, we study the role of adjuvants and neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) in vaccination.
Techniques, methods & infrastructure
Tissue culture: Primary cell cultures, isolation of cell subsets with magnetic beads, establishment of antigen-specific T cell lines, T cell cloning; isolation of granulocytes, NET-induction
A broad spectrum of biochemical, cell biological techniques (e.g. different proliferation assays, ELISA, FACS analyses, Western blots, RT-PCR, etc.).
