Research interests

My main research focus covers the various aspects of haemostasis and thrombosis research, diagnosis and treatment, such as cancer-associated thrombosis, anticoagulation in venous thromboemolism and atrial fibrillation, pulmonary embolism, haemophilia, acquired coagulation disorders, cardiovascular diseases in patients with endstage-renal disease on hemodialysis

Techniques, methods & infrastructure

The Ay lab has space for 4 researchers at the Anna Spiegel Building and three more laboratory spaces located at the Vienna General Hospital to allow for immediate sample preparation. Both laboratories are equipped with different devices necessary to analyse coagulation, including a UF/VIS Microtiterplate Spectralphotometer, an Ultrawash PLUS Microplate Washer, a Multiscan Spectrum Multiplate Reader, the automated coagulation instrument Ceveron alpha and the CytoFLEX Flow Cytometer (Beckman Coulter).
