Research Area: Developing methods for High Field (3T) and Ultra-High Field (7T) Susceptibility-Weighted Imaging, Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping and functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging
My main research focuses on the structural and functional mapping of the brainstem nuclei, organ involved in Parkinson Disease. The major challenges in mapping brainstem and subcortical nuclei is their small volume, close proximity to one another, and the physiological fluctuations affecting the region. The research is designed to improve the localization of such nuclei by developing a magnetic resonance imaging method based on Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping and functional magnetic resonance imaging.
