Research interests
Philipp obtained his medical degree from the Medical University of Vienna. During his medical studies, he completed biomedical research on cardiac protection from myocardial ischemia and reperfusion injury. After receiving his medical degree, Philipp continued his research career as a postdoctoral fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, where his work focused on vascular regeneration. In 2018, he returned to Austria for his clinical training in Radiology at the Medical University of Vienna. Philipp was awarded a PhD in Vascular biology at the Medical University of Vienna in 2022. In 2023, he obtained the Austrian and European board certifications in Radiology.
His current research focus is the characterization of congenital heart disease (CHD) and adult heart disease using novel imaging techniques. Additionally, he is part of the multidisciplinary team that implemented the first MRI guided focused ultrasound for treatment of movements disorders in Austria.
