Research interests

My research focus is mainly on risk factors for and consequences of alcohol consumption. Specific research projects include the following: Evaluation and improvement of clinical management of alcohol use disorder, cognitive decline in patients with alcohol use disorder, Wernicke encephalopathy and thiamine substitution, Iron overload in alcohol use disorder, Burden and needs of informal caregivers of patients with alcohol use disorder.
