Research interests
My main research focus is to understand the importance of different factors in the development of psychological distress and trauma in an open approach in prevention and support of victims/survivors, adressing medicine, forensic medicine, psychiatry, psychotherapy, cultural anthropology, ethics, law and international law in the framework of interdisciplinary and transcultural public health models. I am active in international networks and umbrella organisations such as WPA to promote this issues and work especially in regions with war, civil war and human rights violations, such as torture. Science teaching and capacity building in such areas and in developing countries especially also in regard to gender specific violence is part of this work.
