Research interests

Before my PhD at the Medical University, I completed two Masters degree, one in Technical Mathematics and one in Biomedical Engineering at the Technical University of Vienna. In this context I conducted my first Master thesis is cooperation with the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) in the field of blood stream simulation. At the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, I wrote my second Master thesis for Biomedical Engineering. It was about the simulation of fractures in the upper cervical spine. In my PhD here, I am working in the field of OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography).

Techniques, methods & infrastructure

A Multimodal PS-OCT and fluorescence microscopy system for ex vivo imaging is constructed. The system will be used to investigate and identify disease markers for Alzheimer disease in both ocular and cerebral tissues.
