Research interests

My research focuses on epigenetics and the molecular pathology of bladder cancer. In the lab, we are using genome-scale analyses to detect sites of differential DNA methylation in primary human bladder tumors in order to define epigenetic biomarkers and to discover epigenetic drivers of tumorigenesis. By working in close contact with clinicians, we are exellently connected to current developments in uro-oncological diseases and focus on translating molecular findings to the clinics.

Techniques, methods & infrastructure

  • DNA methylation analysis
  • Cell culture techniques
  • Immunohistochemistry and Imaging
  • Genetics&Molecular Biology (qRT-PCR, Western Blot, Sequencing, Cloning, ELISA, ChIP)
