Research interests

Obesity and diabetes are the new epidemics of the 21st century. Obesity related diseases, which are chronic diseases requiring life-long medical treatment, are thus becoming a major social, economic, and medical challenge for health care systems in the western world.

Techniques, methods & infrastructure

Cell culture and mouse work: isolation of primary hepatocytes, calorimetric measurements, diets (insulin tolerance test, oral glucose tolerance test), mitochondrial function and metabolic state (Seahorse XF), stainings, basic laboratory assays (elisa, western blot, qPCR,..)
