An der Medizinischen Universität Wien ist an der Universitätsklinik für Kinder- und Jugendheilkunde / Klinische Abteilung für Pädiatrische Pulmologie, Allergologie und Endokrinologie mit der Kennzahl: 6494/22, voraussichtlich ab 3. Oktober 2022 eine Stelle mit einem Beschäftigungsausmaß von 40 Wochenstunden mit einem:einer Assistent:in (postdoc) zu besetzen.
Das monatliche Mindestentgelt für diese Verwendung beträgt derzeit Euro 4.061,-- brutto (14x jährlich) und kann sich eventuell auf Basis der kollektivvertraglichen Vorschriften durch die Anrechnung tätigkeitsspezifischer Vorerfahrungen sowie sonstige mit den Besonderheiten des Arbeitsplatzes verbundene Entgeltsbestandteile erhöhen.

Das Arbeitsverhältnis endet nach Ablauf von 4 Jahren.
Anstellungserfordernisse: Abgeschlossenes Studium der Naturwissenschaften oder Medizin mit facheinschlägigem Doktorat, Qualifikation in Forschung und Lehre. Die fremdenrechtlichen Anstellungserfordernisse bei Nicht-EU-Bürger:innen müssen gewährleistet sein.
Gewünschte Zusatzqualifikationen:
- Experience in biomedical research, preferably on post-doctoral level
- Scientific publishing experience, preferably in the field of metabolism
- Proof of successful acquisition of competitive third-party funds and/or existence of a prepared project application in the required area
- German skills are an asset but not a prerequisite

- Skills to lead and motivate a team

Postdoctoral Research Associate: Inborn Errors of Metabolism at the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Clinical Division of Pediatric Pulmonology, Allergology and Endocrinology, Medical University of Vienna.
Job Description
We are looking for an excellent researcher with a PhD or MD-PhD background and expertise and relevant publications in the field of inherited metabolic disease, preferably such that are or could be detected in newborn screening. The researcher is expected to build up an own working group within the frameworks of the metabolic center including the Austrian national newborn screening laboratory and existing research infrastructure located at our Department. Therefore, international networking and the successful acquisition of competitive third-party funds in the field of inborn errors of metabolism or the existence of a developed concept for a project application are of great importance.
Requirements
- Completed scientific or medical studies with a relevant doctorate
- Experience in biomedical research, preferably on post-doctoral level
- Scientific publishing experience, preferably in the field of metabolism
- Proof of successful acquisition of competitive third-party funds and/or existence of a prepared project application in the required area
- German skills are an asset but not a prerequisite
- High level of self-motivation, commitment and work ethics
- Skills to lead and motivate a team
The position is initially limited to 4 years with the option of extension. We anticipate the willingness for a long-term commitment of the candidate. Gross wage is currently 4.061,-- Euro (14x per year).
