New Service of the Proteomics Core Facility “MALDI Imaging for Clinical Research” Inauguration Seminar

Dear colleagues!

The Proteomics Core Facility introduces a new service for researchers – MALDI analysis and MALDI Imaging of tissue samples.

In order to mark this milestone event, we are inviting you to join us for presentations on possibilities of this remarkable technology.

The Seminar will take place in Anna-Spiegel Translational Research Center, Spitalgasse 23, 1090 Vienna, Seminar room, 3. Floor, on Friday, December 13, 2019 and will start at 10:00 am.

MALDI-TOF MS has become an established technique for analyzing a variety of nonvolatile molecules including proteins, peptides, oligonucleotides, lipids, glycans, and other molecules of biological importance. This technology has been applied to many analytical applications, and an increasing number of applications covers clinical issues.
Some applications may soon be accepted for routine clinical use: 1. cancer typing directly from serum or tissue extracts; 2. tissue imaging; 3. imaging of proteins for cancer typing; 4. identification of binding sites for small molecules or the drug disposition in tissue; 5. Screening, identification and validation of biomarker; 6. MS immunoassay; 7. clinical assays of biomarkers for diagnosis and treatment.
