Your responsibilities:
As a PhD student, you will be working on your own original research project in medical related technologies and sciences under the supervision of an experienced and international faculty. This position will provide you with the opportunity to develop your personal and professional skills to become an expert in your field and to advance scientific knowledge in research related to medicine.
- Conduct original research in one of the 18 PhD programs.
- Design and execute experiments.
- Collect and analyze data. Interpret findings to contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of researchers, clinicians, and industry partners to foster innovation and translation of research discoveries into clinical practice.
- Communicate research findings effectively through peer-reviewed journal publications, conference presentations, and other relevant dissemination channels.
- Participate in academic activities such as seminars, workshops, and scientific meetings to enhance professional development and networking opportunities.
- Contribute to grant writing and securing funding to support research projects and initiatives.
- Be an active member of a thriving and growing scientific community.
Your profile
- Master's degree or equivalent in mathematics, (bio)physics, (bio)engineering, (bio)informatics, cancer, immunology, computer science, (bio)chemistry, biology or cell/molecular biology, medicine or a related field.
- First practical experiences in a relevant research area in the context of an internship, job or project.
- Interest in developing new and creative solutions for humans and their health.
- Passion for science and interest in a career in research.
- Interest in conducting your own research and leading your own project.
- Willingness to travel abroad for conferences.
- Ability to work both in a team and independently.
- Excellent English skills (at least C1 level) - we are an international crowd and English is our working language!

The minimum monthly salary for this position (Uni-KV, VerwGr. B1) is currently EUR 2,684.10 gross (14x per year) on a part-time basis and may be increased by taking into account relevant previous experience and other salary components associated with the special features of the job.
