Kidney; Molecular Imaging; Pharmacokinetics
My main research focus is kinetic modeling, i.e. the quantification of radiopharmaceutical processes in the body on the basis of imaging techniques. In particular, I am interested in the renal processes of FDG, a routine tracer in nuclear medicine for PET examinations.
Techniques, methods & infrastructure
PET/CT and PET/MRI are used predominantly with FDG. Several human studies with healthy subjects, diabetes patients, etc as well as animal studies are performed in comparison with standard methods. Software is developed to evaluate the tracer concentration over time and to create kinetic models.
