Positron-Emission Tomography; Radiochemistry
My PhD thesis focuses on the development of PET tracers for neuroimaging of muscarinic acetylcholine receptors. Chemical derivatization of known mAChR ligands allows to tune suitable pharmacological properties for tracer development. Radiochemical labeling of tracers is performed with cyclotron produced radionuclides (11C, 18F) and parameters like ligand receptor kinetics, lipophilicity, plasma protein binding and metabolic stability are assessed.
